New Delhi: The body of Punjabi singer Manmeet Singh was found in Lake Kareri in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra SSP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan reported on Wednesday.

According to Kangra SSP, the body of Manmeet, who was one of the Sain Brothers singers known for their Sufi chants, was recovered from the Lake Kareri area in Kangra district. According to sources, Manmeet, who was one of the singers of Sain Brothers, a music group known for their Sufi songs, was visiting Dharamshala with some of his friends.

They said the Sufi singer went further to Lake Kareri and disappeared in heavy rains and flash floods on Monday.

“The body of Punjabi singer Manmeet Singh was found in the Lake Kareri area in Kangra district. Details awaited, ”SSP Ranjan said in a statement.

At SHO Mcleodganj police station, Vipin Chaudhary said: “Manmeet slipped and fell into a nullah at Lake Kareri and was washed away by the gushing waters. “
