New Delhi: Indian athlete Priya Malik won a gold medal at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships in Budapest on Sunday. While compatriots praised the athlete, some Bollywood celebrities mistook the wrestler’s victory for an Olympic victory.

Famous ‘Dum Laga ke Haisha’ actress Bhumi Padnekar took to Instagram to congratulate Malik with the caption: “Baby or or or or or #PriyaMalik #tokyoolympics # olympics2021”.

Actor / model Milind Soman took to her Twitter account and wrote enthusiastically, “Thank you Priya Malik! #gold #TokoyoOlympics #wrestling welcome to Mount Olympus “.

However, Soman, after posting the error, corrected himself by sharing another post that read: “Sorry, I should have checked before my previous tweet, but he was too overwhelmed with joy Smiley face with open mouth and smiling eyes Priya Malik won gold at the wrestling world championships! Forward and on top ”.

One user suggested, “Please google a bit and find out which world sporting event she won … You don’t have to post a congratulatory tweet without knowing it.” Another commented, “Sir, please delete this. She won the world championship in Hungry. Even I was excited at first.

In response to this, Soman wrote: “I know now, always happy and I won’t delete the tweet, sometimes it’s ok to make a mistake.”
