TV is no longer a priority
TV is no longer a priority for Asha. She says, ‘Now I don’t think I have enough patience to continue doing a TV show for 2-3 years. Yes, television is a great medium for those who want financial security. The longer the TV show is running, the better. Now I want to be more satisfied creatively. I think the web medium is now a beautiful bridge between film and television as there is no television actor and film actor on the web. Everyone is just actor in the web.
What is the background of the film?
Talking about her work in ‘Collar Bomb’ and the background of the film, Asha said, ‘There is a small village in Himachal Pradesh where the hostage situation has come. Villagers and all of us policemen have never seen such a situation. There is a small village in the mountain where crime hardly happens. My director just told me not to look too confident with the gun because this prisoner hasn’t fired a gun before today. There is no crime, so they do their work with sticks. Gun was never needed. I also had to show something through my character that I am raw in using guns etc. How will a lady cop use a gun for the first time? Exactly like that. All these things had to be taken care of. Jimmy sir is with me who has been ex cop. I had to do such a character for a long time, I had to do stunts. All these wishes of mine have come true in this film.
Because of this, ‘Collar Bomb’ is different from other thrillers.
How is ‘Collar Bomb’ different from other thriller films? When asked, Asha said, “The thrillers we are watching right now are either set in metros like Delhi-Mumbai or someplace outside the country. What is different in collar bomb is that if hostage situation comes in a small village then how will they handle it? The people of the village are simple. How do they react if such a situation comes to them? This is what sets this thriller film apart from others.
Jimmy Shergill does not have star attitude
Talking about the experience of working with Jimmy Shergill in ‘Collar Bomb’, Negi said, ‘I used to be very hesitant when I was around him as he has been my crush since childhood. I remember all the songs from his film ‘Dil Hai Tumhaara’. There was a shame due to which I could not talk to him much. They must think that it is still in the character. He is very cool on the sets. There is no star attitude in him. There is no such baggage with him that I have done many films.
Asha spoke on social media trolling
Talking about personal life, Asha was in discussion last year about her breakup with Rithvik Dhanjani. He also faced a lot of trolling on social media regarding this. On the question of being troubled by social media trolling, Asha says, ‘To be honest, it used to affect a lot at first but now I am slowly getting better. It doesn’t matter that much now. Now it seems that trolls have nothing better to do, that’s why they come to us and do all this.
